Tapirs use their nose like an elephant’s trunk. They grab branches and leaves and bring food into their mouth.

Tapirs eat fruits and vegetables like ferns, horsetails, palm fruits and hearts, aquatic plants, and bromeliads.
Do tapirs have tails?
Yes! They are short and hard to see, so look closely. They are only 2 to 5 inches long.
